Ohio Valley Wholesale Distributors has been serving convenience stores and
the grocery industry in southern Ohio, western
West Virginia, and eastern Kentucky for more than 45 years.
Ohio Valley Wholesale supports a
growing customer base of 400, representing nearly 600 stores and other retail
sites. Candy, cigarettes, tobacco products.Ohio Valley Wholesale carries more than 4500 products. Its large and regularly replenished inventory of merchandise includes candy, cigarettes, tobacco products and HBC. General merchandise, automotive, grocery items.We also carry general merchandise, automotive, grocery items, concession supplies,
beverages and fast food programs. As a commitment to the large volume of wholesale products that we carry, and their respective industries, we believe in participating in a number of associations. Our thorough understanding of the industry’s issues, debates, future plans help put us in a better position to be your knowledgeable service provider. We look forward to serving your business and helping you achieve success! Company HistoryFrom its beginning in 1939 as a tobacco, candy and sundries supplier to
its 1969 expansion under new owner, David J. Glockner, our business vision
has remained the same: To serve the retail community of Southern Ohio,
Western West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky with quality, integrity,
and exceptional customer service. Starting out on Greenup Avenue in Ashland, Kentucky and supplying area
retail stores, what originated as Ohio Valley Tobacco Company, the business
made its first move to a larger facility in 1971, calling 29th Street home.
Continued growth required another move, and in 1976 the company purchased the
former Kroger building on Winchester Avenue and changed its name to Ohio
Valley Wholesale Distributing, Inc. Over the next fifteen years, our company experienced consistent growth and
a demand for more space to better serve its retail catalog showroom business.
A wise but tough decision occurred in the early 90s when the catalog showroom
was closed, the warehouse upgraded, and the company focused on the growing
wholesale segment of the business. This decision has certainly proved
successful for Ohio Valley Wholesale Distributing, Inc. In June 2003 we expanded to our new 72,000 square foot warehouse in East Park Industrial Park. This monumental move will enable Ohio Valley to continue to serve its customers in an efficient and productive manner, while allowing room for future growth and opportunity.
